Meet Our Team

A US-based board and staff, with associates in both the USA and Cambodia.

Romony E. Sin

President

Separated from her mother at nine during the Khmer Rouge era, Romony was reunited with her mother and sisters at seventeen, graduated fourth in her Houston high school class, and earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Houston. She now leads teams globally at an oil & gas company and serves alongside Pastor Raywood Samreth at Cambodia New Life Church.

Madorom E. Huot

Vice President

Educated at a time when Cambodian women rarely were, Madorom lost her husband and young son during the Khmer Rouge. She came to America with two daughters, supplemented her education with American college coursework, and worked for a large energy company in Houston. An answered prayer — finding her missing daughter alive in Cambodia — led to her Christian faith conversion. She now divides her time between Houston and Cambodia.

Si K. Sin

Treasurer

Orphaned young, Si learned to survive a communist regime with perseverance and hard work, arriving in America in 1980 with his younger sister. A University of Houston graduate, he has led energy management teams for 30 years and serves as a board member at Cambodian New Life Church.

Ellen D. Smith

Board Secretary

Ellen met Cambodian refugees at her Houston church over thirty years ago. Her 2012 introduction between the two founders was the spark that started this organization. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, businesswoman, paralegal, and teacher.

Consultant to the Board & Staff

Solina Chy

Consultant

Born into a Buddhist family in Cambodia, Solina worked under the Khmer Rouge after 1975, was imprisoned, and escaped to Thailand in 1979. A request to translate for a missionary led her to faith.

Nikki Nguon

Care Coach

Married to her Cambodian husband since 1991, Nikki has long held a passion for connecting with Cambodian people and serves in anti-trafficking and outreach organizations alongside this program’s work.

Kagnaarun Tep

Program Director

A graduate of the international program in 2015, Arun has served as a missionary to the provinces and leads youth, worship, and women’s ministries with gentleness and hard work.
